Am I a bad mother if I give my daughter her Dad's cell-phone and say, "Here. Chew on this for a while while I go on the computer."?

You are starting her off pretty young!
Giving Ashlee my cell phone to play with was one of the best things I ever did. She's mesmerized by it, and it has helped distract her when she's tempted to throw a fit in public! I always give it to her when she's restless. And the only damage babies can really do to a cell phone is drool on it and throw it on the ground. So far mine has been okay!
